This is my third ecodrive watch from Citizen and it is great. It is slim and light and never needs a batter. I use it as an everyday timepiece.

The BM6555-54E by Citizen is a fine watch for the price. The clasp is strong and the hidden mechanism adds class since it appears that the band pattern is continuous. This is a good watch for those with smaller wrists. At over an inch wide the rectangular face is sleek and attracts a lot of attention. The depth of the case is also very thin keeping it from becoming hung up on clothing.

So far I have owned the watch for two years and the ion plating has not begun to fade and the plating is decently scratch resistant. If the battery runs out it does not take long to charge back up under any source of light.

The only downside to this watch is that it is not waterproof, just splash resistant. I usually wear this unless I am doing work outside or around water; it works very well in both casual and formal settings.

I am very pleased with this watch, Citizen did a superb job.

It is a great watch, very good looking, efficient and cost-effective. Never failed on the time compared to some other brands of solar powered watches. The dial and metal are scratch resistant too. I had harsh bangs a couple of times and still no scratches or bends. Love it...

I was looking for my first non-Timex watch in over 35 years of watch wearing- I guess I must be a cheapskate!! I can't see spending a bundle on a Tag or Rolex or other high end watch- and I hate metal bands as they catch in the hair on my arms. The Citizen Eco-drive seemed like a good idea to me. It is a nice looking watch, quite hefty and larger than I expected. I'm 6'4" with a somewhat thin wrist and it takes up my whole wrist.

The big deal to me is that there is no light on this watch. As someone who does not use an alarm clock, I count on the ability to see the watch at night in bed and even though the hands are luminiscent, they are very hard to discern at night. I am used to Timex Indiglo- which is fantastic for this. I guess I thought all watches would be using that technology but it is not the case. If it were not for this lack of feature, I would rate this watch much higher- between 4 and 5 because it does seem to be a quality piece at a reasonable price.

I ordered this watch because I have another Citizen Eco Drive that I really like. I wanted a casual watch, but didn't want to buy big-box cheap junk. The picture of this watch was appealing, although in the photo the hands look odd because of the way the luminescence is green. In reality, that green is barely perceptible.

I guess I could have paid closer attention to the dimensions for this watch. It is big! It's not thick, but just bigger than average. In my opinion it's nearly cartoon large. Those of us with small wrists cannot understand the recent competition between watchmakers to make wristwatches as big as possible. You think they would be more compact. Anyway, the size does make the watch easy to read -- especially with the big numbers on the face. So, why in the world is the date so small????? You can read the time from across the room, but you'll need a magnifying glass to read the date. And, no. There is no Rolex-style magnifier in the crystal for the date window. Citizen, I think you need to give whomever designed this one an opportunity to go to work at Seiko.

I'm keeping the watch since style-wise it was about the only choice in a leather band right now without spending big bucks on one of the overpriced Tags, Omegas, etc. My other Eco Drive is a really good watch, but too dressy for casual wear. But, I'm interested to see how fast the large circumference crystal picks up scratches. In the mean time I'll just use my cell phone to remind me of the date.

Nice enough as a dress watch, not to fancy as a casual, solar power is SUPER COOL, no need for batteries for 10yr plus, watch is well made, well finished,clean lines and band is a nice brown, I own a Rolex Submariner, a Swiss Army Titanium and a Stainless and Gold, A Seiko, and a G-Shock atomic for work, this is my favorite, Im selling the Rolex......very happy and recommend to anyone

Well, some perspective: I take my sense of style pretty seriously and I do consider myself a bit of a watch hound. With that, I have always gravitated towards oversized, eye-catching, masculine watches. And while this was my first foray into the world of Citizen's watches, and I was most anxious to get this bad boy on my wrist given the dimensions, there was just no way around the fact that this timepiece is just too bulky. I was most impressed with the impeccable craftsmenship of this watch, and the design is very bold and deserving of attention. The width of the watch was good too, even at 51mm. But the depth at 19mm was way too chunky. I've had watches the same width and close to the same depth, but this just stuck too far off my wrist. I did exchange for a Citizen Eco-Drive Men's Perpetual Calendar Watch #BL5334-04E and I couldn't be happier. About the same width but much slimmer, AND with a perpetual calendar (bonus!). It seems I am now a loyal Citizen customer.

I've been wearing this watch for just about a year now. I've experienced no problems what so ever. Yes, it is big. Yes, it is heavy. If you take your watch off to sleep, it will make a thud as it hits the floor; but you have no reason to fear breaking it. I don't think I could break it. I'd have to use some kind of heavy weighted hammer and intentionally, deliberately, try to damage it. I've received compliments on it as well.

I ordered the Citizen diving watch and received it within 2 working days. The watch looked exactly like the photo and came packaged in a nice leather bound zippered case. The watch is a little heavier than a normal watch but that is due to the construction needed for diving. I am not a scuba diver but I look cool as hell with the watch on! It keeps great time and since it's an eco drive watch, it never needs batteries just sunlight. I am very happy for my purchase!

Not your skagen-style watch where the face of the watch is so thin, it is actually flush with the band. That's actually one of the reason I like this watch, thigh. It is very simple, easy to tell time, and stylish. The black face plate is awesome. I rock it with suits on the daily. The question you should really be asking yourself is . . . why I am still rocking this impractical chunker on my wrist?
